Marathon!

I’ve always wanted to say I’ve run a marathon but I’ve never really wanted to actually train for one. Last summer I finally decided I was ready to do it! So I picked a local, flat, spring race and started training in December. Overall I was lucky with the winter weather and also found the training to be manageable. Time consuming but not exhausting.

To add to the fun Elaine decided to come and run her first half marathon the same day. We had humid but great weather and both beat our goal times. I finished in 4:47:17 and even picked up first in my age group. The last 3 miles were tough but overall it was it a terrible experience! I was pretty sore for a few days but am now ready for the next adventure!

We celebrated the next day with wine, pizza, games and the lake!

Random fun

Just few cute animal pics and a day out in Branson with Io. We did the newish beyond the lens attraction which was ok and a little odd. Probably not one I would do again. Then we had some cold stone!

Coursing

We got these “epic” photos from fast cat last weekend. Epic continues to run well sticking around the 8 second mark and getting over 150 pts for the weekend!

Maze

Maze decided to have a photo shoot. Because she’s the cutest.

Baseball!

Io had a great time at his first ball game. Cardinals got a win and Io got a foul ball!

Late Easter Photo

Student news

Io spent spring break in DC for the Civics Education Workshop.  He had a great time.

Jerry and Io found their inner monkey at Fritz's adventure in Branson.

After months of not applying himself at school and failing to maintain the minimum grade standards required by his program (as well as some behavior issues) Tony was sent home last weekend.  It's sad because he could have prevented all of it, and wasted an opportunity he won't get again, but it's probably better for the rest of the household.  Io is adjusting to being an only child and we have plenty of fun things planned the rest of the year!

Welcome Rocket

Sadly, but no overly shockingly, we said good-bye to Kahlua a few months ago.  But the never ending supply of homeless rabbits has filled our home again.  Rocket is a two year old boy who is very full of life.  He loves to explore and climb and is keeping everyone entertained.
